I use: 2 parts quality potting soil like Fox farms (never miracle grow), 1 part perlite, 1 part orchid bark, 1 part horticultural charcoal, slow release fertilizer.

Don't use miracle grow too many gnat eggs! Fox farm, perlite, activated charcoal, worm castings and orchid bark that's the perfect mix

Miracle grow uses peat in many of their soils, which is environmentally destructive and naturally hydrophobic 😭
