I just fill the hole with ramen, superglue it, then sand down till it’s flush with the tread. Way cheaper than your screws.

Always use tire plugs patches work too just not as well. Former tech telling yall it will most likely wear the spot you thought you fixed down from screwing it in and end up just becoming the same problem. Short term solution but you can get tire plugs for cheap
