@traineffectiveofficial: This is so sad 😔 In 2017, Róger Guedes experienced a so-called “toughening up” exercise while at SE Palmeiras - something that was meant to prepare him for big matches, but crossed a serious line. According to accounts from former teammates, the session involved Guedes being kicked, slapped, pushed to the ground, and even restrained, while coaches stood by and watched. It was presented as a method to build mental toughness, but in reality it had nothing to do with professional development or safe performance training. Shortly after the incident, Guedes left the club on loan before continuing his career abroad and later returning to Brazilian football - where he notably went on to score twice against Palmeiras in a 2–1 win in 2021. There is no justification for this kind of behaviour in sport. What makes this more concerning is not just the action itself, but the fact it was allowed to happen under coaching supervision. That reflects a failure in leadership, safeguarding, and basic professional standards. Football is a high-pressure environment, but “toughness” should never come at the cost of safety, dignity, or consent. #footballtiktok #brasil #soccertiktok
