Lets be frank “Opportunist” can come in two kinds. It doesn’t always involve in negativity. It can either be “Good or Bad”. An opportunist is someone who acts on favorable circumstances to achieve success, but the distinction between a "good" and "bad" opportunist lies entirely in their intent, ethics, and the value they create. A ‘good opportunist’ is a strategic visionary who recognizes unexpected openings and leverages them to grow, adapt, and uplift others without compromising their integrity or exploiting anyone. And a bad opportunist operates on pure selfishness and manipulation, or exploiting a situation for personal, performative gain while disregarding loyalty, ethics, or the well being of those around them. When we talk about Miss Universe Philippines 2026 Bea Millan Windorski, who faced heavy internet backlash and was called an "opportunist" for moving to the Philippines to compete after previously representing the United States as Miss Earth USA 2024. Her actions firmly align her as a good opportunist (in the most positive, strategic sense of the word). Rather than executing a superficial, performative stunt for a crown, her history shows she mindfully used her unique background and international platforms to create tangible value for others, even long before winning MUPH, she was heavily involved in genuine filipino roots and activism in the Philippines, working with local environmental groups like Panatang Luntian, fighting against systemic corruption, and researching the struggles of migrant Filipino workers. This woman always dreamed of embracing her Filipina side and become a Miss Universe Philippines. She has worked hard to study our language and asked for tutors while she was studying abroad. For me Bea should be compared to an OFW using the knowledge we learned abroad while carrying it straight back to your origins. All I can see is pure hate. If you don’t like Bea, then its your problem.
