I grew up in a trailer park with a violent father and no roadmap for success. I wasn’t some straight‑A kid — I barely passed school and didn’t see college as an option. So I joined the Marines. A Humvee accident broke my back and neck and sent me right back to the bottom.From there, I worked dead‑end jobs until age 25, when I decided I wasn’t going to die average. I applied to 22 law enforcement agencies. Only two called back — and I turned those two chances into a 27‑year, highly decorated Federal Law Enforcement career, retiring as a GS‑14.I retired at 50 with two lifetime pensions paying me $13,400 a month. Now I run a veteran disability consulting business and a mobile home sales LLC. I built all of it from nothing — no connections, no shortcuts, no safety net.The confidence I have today wasn’t inherited. It was earned one brutal chapter at a time.

Its easy to build confidence. Do hard things. When you fail, get up and do it again. The fight is not over until you believe its over. You are what you believe. If you are confident and successful, its because you never quit. The failures, are people who tried once and gave up.

I work in the medical field and people often complain that the surgeon is arrogant. I find it amusing because he SHOULD be arrogant. You want a confident surgeon that trusts his own skill, not a hesitant one with self-doubt.

u have to be OVERLY confident INTERNALLY for 365 days every year. u have to constantly reiterate to ur thoughts and mind on a daily basis that ur everything u think u are and u can create ur own reality regardless of the public perception of urself

I spent 10 years struggling as a documentary wedding photographer shooting in a style that didn’t exist at the time. I gave up a corporate buyers position where I worked 70+ hours a week where I was taken for granted and underappreciated. The struggle was awful, but I wanted my little business idea to succeed. I remember being late on my bills, and having to ration my food, eating every other day just to survive. Yeah, those are the things that ground you; that struggle and tenacity changes you. Made me protect the things I valued and forced me to set boundaries with anyone that came into my life. 16 years later I live conservatively and I’m grateful for what I have, but I would fight anyone who tried to take what I have from me today.
