Once a happy child, Camden had reportedly become increasingly aggressive, anxious, and had started wetting the bed. Because he struggled to communicate verbally, he couldn’t explain what was happening to him. Determined to find answers, his mother secretly placed a small audio recorder inside his school backpack. 💔 What she discovered was heartbreaking. The recordings captured a teacher and a teacher’s aide at Greater Baton Rouge Hope Academy mocking Camden during classroom activities, imitating the sounds he made and making hurtful remarks about his abilities. She brought the recordings to light, and WBRZ Channel 2 investigated the incident. By April 12, 2018, both school employees had been fired. The school apologized and announced plans for additional staff training and procedural changes.
