TL:DR - Her father has threatened to kill them both, if she didn't go through the wedding. she was in an abusive relationship, her brother Tariq worked with a charity to essentially smuggle her out of Pakistan. OP and her met for coffee. it was like 2 old friends catching up, but still hesitant of each other. Eventually she invites him back to their old Minecraft server. he's unsure of a future relationship with her, he's just happy for closure. Eventually, OP gets to see the actual texts the father and mother sent, pertaining to the marriage. Father had OP stalked and threatened to also have his family killed. the mother threatened suicide, if she didn't go through with marriage. OP told them both to F off, and to never talk to him again. OP and she kept in contact and eventually, he asked her out on a date, and they are back together.

This was incredibly long story with about 3 updates. The short version is that she was forced into the arranged marriage and her new husband began quickly abusing her. She managed to escape back to Britain with the help of a charity and stayed with her older brother who was estranged from their family because he married a white woman. Jayma was the one texting OP about if he was interested in seeing her again, not her brother. Her father reached out to OP because his wife threatened to divorce him because his actions were ruining their family. OP meets up with Jayma and they begin hanging out again and in the last update they’re dating again

Whoa, so the poor girl was threatened with both her and her love's lives if she didn't agree to the marriage, only to be abused and have her life ruined. Poor lad didn't even know what happened, just felt betrayed by the girl he loved. I don't know how furious I would've been if I found out the reason why my partner left me was because they were scared for my life and theirs. I might've even felt guilty. Dang... and I know this isn't even the only case like this. There's so many similar stories with arranged marriages.
