It’s been two years since I stopped going to school, and now that I’m working, I’ve started to realize how hard life really is. I never thought making friends would become this difficult. I’m a really shy person, and I get scared to talk to people because I’m always worried about saying the wrong thing or being awkward. I only have one friend, and even though I’m really grateful to have him, we only see each other maybe once or twice a month. He has his own life, his own friends, and his own things going on, and I completely understand that. I miss having people around me. I miss feeling like I belong somewhere. I wish I had more friends—people I could laugh with, talk to, and make memories with. Sometimes I feel really alone, and I honestly don’t know how to change that.
