The answer to "why not" is always two-fold: negative value proposition and control of your I.P. * MCP agents and a headless source system w APIs will forever cost more in licenses and tokens than scaling your source system or even replacing it. ** Exporting your I.P. into a model which competitors can likely access weakens your brand allowing fatal disruptive competition.

Headless: cut costs from pretty SaaS features and increase managed IAM surface area. API: hidden support work nobody sees until that ops engineer who held it together quits. MCP: tool that will be out of vogue by the time you build it, also just an API. AI Agent: business data leaving your infra through your poorly managed Entra employee access to systems nobody ever used before. RAG: “no, your customized OCI deployment in CC&B doesn’t come with definitions because every customer is different and you don’t use those fields as we intended”
