We stayed at a Hampton Inn and their brand policy is raw wood cutlery. Not only could I not put it in my mouth, I couldn't watch The Man use them. I ate breakfast with my hands.

Nothing is built to last anymore. In fact they are built to have a short lifespan. My parents washing machine, fridge, tv, vacuum etc all lasted my whole childhood & beyond. There’s so much waste. 😏

Growing up, I don’t ever remember replacing a burnout bulb above my bed or in my closet. I never remember the hot water heater ever going out either. You’re right things are different now.

I used the same reusable coffee cup on my way to work for a year. During the pandemic they banned it and said disposable only and have never gone back to filling mine. Who is profiting from that? I've made it at home ever since.

Incandescent light bulbs gave off some heat as well. LED are not inviting and give off that nuclear flash of blinding light
