“Suffering is never the end of your story, but the beginning of something new.” — Katherine Wolf As I drove home from a wonderful girls' trip to Sedona and Flagstaff, enjoying fall scenery, cooler temperatures, and beautiful walks, I listened to The Suffer Strong Podcast. These words deeply resonated with me. ❤️ We all suffer. It's part of being human. Some suffering is visible. Much of it is not. Those navigating chronic illness, Lyme disease, mold-related illness, or CIRS understand suffering on so many levels—physically, emotionally, financially, and spiritually. But suffering doesn't have to be the end of your story. As I reflected on my own decades of chronic illness, I asked myself: How has my suffering become the beginning of something new? 🌿 I've developed healthier relationships and learned to let go of people-pleasing. 🌿 I've learned that boundaries aren't selfish and that I'm not responsible for everything or everyone. 🌿 I've developed greater discernment about where I invest my time, energy, and heart. 🌿 I've grown in compassion for others, especially those whose suffering is invisible. 🌿 I've learned that my worth isn't determined by my productivity or accomplishments. 🌿 I've learned to appreciate life's simple gifts. 🌿 I've discovered that some of my greatest purpose has grown out of my deepest pain. My suffering didn't just change my health. It changed me. Would I have chosen those years of illness and suffering? Absolutely not! And I would never tell someone in the depths of suffering that they simply need to find the good in it. But looking back, I can see how God was working in ways I couldn't recognize at the time. Not everything that happens to us is good, but God can bring good out of even the hardest circumstances. If you're suffering today, please don't lose hope. Your story is still being written. ❤️ You don't have to be fully healed to experience growth, discover purpose, or find joy again. Suffering is part of your story. It doesn't have to define the rest of it. I'd love to hear from you. Has something new grown out of your own season of suffering? #SufferStrong #ChronicIllness #InvisibleIllness #CIRS #MoldIllness
