This is such a dumb take, when people say this it usually comes from a past where they were taken advantage of for being naive or KIND to the wrong person. When you hear people say they prefer authenticity over kindness it means exactly what it means (some people are excessively mean, yeah, i don’t approve of complete aggression without reason), but still, villainizing someone, insinuating they couldn’t even fathom being a good person literally ends up proving their point?? If you want people to be kinder don’t alienate them even more

the fact the black cat girl is sipping on a black coffee but also got offered a sweet cake from the nice pink girl so the cake is pink like the girl. Symbolism being that the evil girl will take kindness from the nice girl but will still refuse to believe kindness exists while the proof is right in front of her. I love these details

prefer not being an asshole, I prefer knowing that my actions are useful to somebody, that it helped somebody feel better. Being mean makes me carry a heavy burden, knowing that I made their life even a little worse.

In my case, I befriended a brutally honest person but we don't talk anymore because she may be honest but she doesn't care if I get hurt with what she said. Now I'm surrounded with people who are kind and patient with each other. To me being kind doesn't always mean being a people pleaser, it's how you choose to be honest without worsening what the other person had been feeling.

so strange of a take 😭😭 as someone who thinks this way, it isn’t cause i’m evil, it’s cause if someone isn’t the type to speak up when they’re annoyed or mad or hurt, i’ll constantly be on edge and overthinking everything bc there’s no way to know for sure if they are or aren’t upset. you’re not morally superior bc you don’t overthink things
