Why do you feel it’s important for an 18 month old child to have letter recognition? I’m genuinely curious. And I have been in education field my entire career. Two degrees in education including advanced degree and just curious.

the magnets are awesome but just sit and do flashcards or books, focus on ABCs song, do not overconsume

My 20mo loves the alphabet, so I’ll got “Cat, C- A-T” and he’ll shake his head and go “No, A-B-C” because he thinks I’m messing up the alphabet.

My boys were like this as well. It takes a lot of patience, being involved in their learning and voicing each word and pointing to it every time they go into the room and see the letters. Eventually I would quiz them and work with them for at least 10 mins each time. Then we would sing the ABC song together at the end. Miss these days so much! You’re doing great Mama! Very smart boy. 🥰
