Had a 24 equinox someone did that technique to re seal a front cover. Shaved off the timing chain guides, dumped a bunch of old rtv clogging the oil pump setting a code

For those who don't know, I did the same thing—just one little wire fell in, and onto the wrong sensor; the car wouldn't start anymore due to incorrect timing chain data.
