I don’t get the uproar about it. Care costs impact lowered and middle earners far more than the top 1%. If you said to me now, my options were giving up 10% of my wealth upon death, but your kids inherit the other 90%, or there’s a risk you’ll lose all of it if you get ill, so they’ll receive nothing, I know what I’d prefer.

It's a tax that applies when you die. Ergo it is a tax on death. Taxing money that has already been taxed at source is simply theft. Labour have a few years left unlikely to happen and if it does, not for long.

Im not mad about this tbh but care homes definitely need capping on how much profit they can make - more needs to be put back into the home or their prices need to be looked into. I think its time the government finally start erasing the loopholes these big corporations use to avoid tax.
