@usebqy_3: Every new cat owner needs to hear this: if your cat suddenly stops while eating, drops food after a couple bites, tilts their head and chews only on one side, or even drools while staring at their food, they’re probably not just being “picky.” Their mouth may be hurting, and they could be trying to avoid painful teeth or gums. Don’t brush it off as “they’re just not hungry today,” “the food is too hard,” or “they’re tired of this food.” If your cat normally eats fine but suddenly starts eating much more slowly, has noticeably bad breath, heavy tartar buildup, or red, swollen, or bleeding gums, don’t wait—get them a full oral and dental exam as soon as you can. Cats can’t tell you where it hurts. When they have dental pain, they often become quieter, eat less, and avoid hard food.
