Doctors are almost always so dismissive 😔 I wish they actually listened to their patients

I have POTs, MCAS, and EDS. I had the exact same thing happen but luckily made it off stage. I passed out a lot. I also had severe mono for MONTHS. I came home, slept, did homework, and go back to sleep. I knew mono wasnt good but didnt realize what I experienced was not normal. I didn't start passing out until after I had mono. Didn't realize how bad it can affect people long term. Thank you for teaching me something new!

Reminds me of something else, but I was told the same thing "oh yea this is common in young girls, it just happens" when it was a bone deformity and a connective tissue disorder ganging up on me

"it just happens to young girls on your period. you just have a low pain tolerance"... it was ovarian torsion and I was going septic

I used to blackout and my doctor told my mom it was hormones and I was just wigging myself out. I was diagnosed with cfs in my 20.

11 they started telling me my stomach pain and nausea was my period. I threw up after that. 2 years later I was diagnosed with the genetic disorder my mom and brother have. People still tried to tell me my symptoms were just my period. At 17 I nearly died bc my intestines were twisting and not getting blood supply

Yeah this happened to me while in HS too. Especially during PE. Became know as the girl who fainted. That was fun. Had Mono AND WPW of the heart. Nobody would take me seriously. It was serious.

Ngl I had a cough so bad in highschool I sounded like a smoker. I would almost throw up from coughing so hard. I would have to lay on the floor. This went on for months, if not years. Fast forward to college microbio when I found out I had antibodies for mono in my blood. I’m 28 now and I’ve been diagnosed with POTS and likely have an autoimmune disorder. And I can’t help but wonder if those are all connected.

that happened to me a lot. turns out I'm epileptic. took years because every doctor assumed it was diabetes. after the 5th test I think we could rule that out guys.

Wow I had mono my first semester in college and didn’t know. I’m kinda glad I skipped most of those classes and did the bare minimum. While I do have permanently enlarged tonsils, I’m so thankful I did not get his. I’m so sorry to whoever has to live with this syndrome :/

Fainting could be your vagus nerve too. I fainted once at work and that’s what the ER chalked it up to be

Do doctors not care that people can and do die because they brush off their patients? Like do they not fear getting sued?? All the money and years in school and it baffles me they just ignore people and their concerns once they graduate???????
