@anotherbadsalad: Honestly, this has such wasted potential because Brian being his own character separate from the family and given a chance to improve actually sounds like a good arc for Family Guy to try to take #familyguy #briangriffin #sethmcfarlane #animation #sitcom
i do not like how he is fully naked in these episodes 😭

Why do they age up Meg and haley but leave Steve and Chris the same age in the shows?

I think family guy struggles with character development heavily

I think the only thing I like about the broken leg brian episode is that the concept is referencing the Alfred Hitchcock film “Rear Window” where a guy is stuck at home with a broken leg and has nothing to do but just spy on people and finds out there might be a murder at his neighbors place. I can’t feel bad about Brian though he’s such a terrible guy.

As Rear Window parodies go, the Simpsons did it better. As Hitchcock references go, Bob’s Burgers Birds reference was better. God, I miss OG Brian.

Family guy has become such mindless slop, half the time the most random thing will happen and then theyll make the most mediocre joke about it, then move on with no mention at all in the future. Also, I hate how modern its become, how they need to needlessly include real world things 24/7 and be passive aggressive about "cancel culture" and "woke" anytime they mention it, like yes we get it Lois youre the understanding but dont get it type of mom can we please ditch the joke

The thing with Brian breaking his leg, being stuck at home, spying on his neighbor, then thinking his neighbor murdered his wife and sending Stewie in for reconnaissance is pretty much the exact same plot beats as a classic Simpsons episode (Bart of Darkness). Looking it up it seems that they’re both parodies of the same Hitchcock movie lol

The problem with Family Guy is the lack of continuity... You only got an episode to resolve an issue. But however... if they do multipart episodes... it loses the continuity once it's resolved making everything pointless

My husband would play family guy as he was sleeping on his iPad. I have insomnia, so I stay up much later. I’ve heard this episode so many times but I’ve never actually seen it 🤣

I mean it’s kind of the whole thing with Vinnie again- they did this “big” change, kept it as a b-plot for an ep or two, and then back to status quo. That being said, I like the eps just for seeing Brian getting taken down a peg

I wouldn't be surprised if this whole arc was just to set up the Rear Window parody, like someone wanted to do an episode on that movie but they couldn't figure out the best way to handle it, so just came up with reasons for Brian to be in an apartment and have a broken leg

Always felt like a weird shift in Brian’s character, anyone else? Like at first I remember him being the voice of reason in the house, down to earth with the wildest side being when he was a cop. Then idk when he became more well…this- idk mayhe someone can help me understand a little better

somewhat unrelated: These episodes in the McFarlane universe where they have a political figure be a huge part of the plot gives me such an ick. I feel like the only one that didn't as much was the George Bush episode of American Dad

My guess is they had the idea for the Rear Window parody and worked backwards to get Brian in the apartment with the broken leg.
