this might sound a lil crazy but i use essential oils instead of linseed oil for my oil paintings 🤷🏻♀️it smells better, blends just as well and it dries a little quicker

It takes a lot of oily linseed rags to combust. Is a chemist and an oil painter it’s really easy to avoid. You have to be actively negligent to get combustion. It shouldn’t be something a normal painter has to worry about

Your linseed oil is not gonna spontaneously combust on your paintbrush. That’s not a thing it can if you soak it in a rag and leave it bound up, but not on loose fibers like a brush😭😭

Do u have to mix your paints with something else to make it fluid and delay drying? I usually have to use linseed oil for this
