We bought a Summer Bay timeshare in Orlando on our honeymoon. We were young and sunburned, and the presentation made it sound like we'd be back every year. We never went back. Not once. Kids came, jobs changed, and life happened. The key card they gave us is still in the welcome folder, never swiped. I figured that since we never used it, Exploria would just take the timeshare back. When I called, they said they don't accept returns. Never used, still ours, still billing. It felt like buying something sealed in plastic and being told I can't return it, ever, but I still have to keep paying for it every year. My husband joked that it was the most expensive thing we never opened. It wasn't funny anymore after a while. My cousin told me about Stonegate. I contacted them, and nobody judged our honeymoon decision. If you've never even used your timeshare and they still won't let go, look at the next page. That's how we got out.
