Are you doing this with a large planter? If you are, you need to plug the hole in the bottom with a hydro cement or putty so the vessel doesn’t leak. Get a solar fountain that is slightly smaller than the top edge of the vessel. They run around $20. Some of the fountains have colored solar power LED lights. Place the pot in a sunny spot, fill with water, put the pump in and let it charge. Turn it on and you have a fountain that you can even enjoy in the evening with colored lights. I plan on posting a tutorial in the spring on this very project.
