@aljazeeraenglish: In 1986, French students took to the streets and won. The government withdrew its plan for university reform. Forty years later, some of the people running France are from the same generation that achieved change. And a new generation is on the streets demanding to be heard. What changed? Al Jazeera's @yasmeen.eltahan1 explains.
This is a world problem, the wealthy have purchased the government and kept wealth from reaching the people.

its the same here in Quebec, Canada. i made studies. im into accounting. I make 700/ week. a single 3 room appartment is 1350. Im autistic/adhd/gifted. Healthcare is supposed to be "free". theres a 2 year waitlist to access a psychiatrist and 2 year waitlist for therapist. 3 year waitlist for neuropsychologist. i pay all my services in the provate sector. i live at my parents place since i cant rent or buy a place. They're so out of their mind. they think we spend too much, work harder they say. the only way is to rebuild the system. tax wealth. tax profit from corporation. i dont want to live in the streets. i want healthcare.

Europe is currently struggling to control unrest, even though the vast majority of its population is unarmed. Now, imagine if similar large-scale protests and chaos broke out in the United States. Given that the US has a highly armed civilian population, the situation there could quickly become far more dangerous and volatile than what we are seeing in Europe right now. How do you think the US would handle that kind of crisis compared to Europe? What do you think the outcome would be?
