Iโm sorry butโฆ a lot of kids act like Octavia when their parents get a divorce. Not because the house was fun or because it was good. Itโs because itโs their normal and having a house thatโs together and connected will always seem better than a home thatโs divorced. You see how she treats Octavia by taking her phone away and wonโt let her talk to her dad. And you see Stolas braking his promise to never leave her. Sheโs a teen that doesnโt understand the DYNAMICS and IMPORTANCE of a happy marriage. Iโm sure sheโd much rather her parents be together because sheโd get to freely talk to her dad as she wanted and her mom wouldnโt be taking her phone away from her and she wouldnโt be put in this position of having to choose parental sides. Her saying she wishes how things were are NOT reminiscent of things were happy/healthy. Itโs a kid who is being put in the middle of two squabbling adults that canโt handle it like adults. Period the end done. Iโm not going to be an apologist for her yes absolutely Stolas did something SCUMMY of course he did ITS HELL!!! To expect people to have morals is soooooo stupid given the setting. But also, letโs not pretend like Octaviaโs mom isnโt fucking garbage.

I do think its a bit funny that in their scramble to make Stolas a victim uwu baby to all his partners, they ironically made a pretty good depiction of reactive abuse
