Is that just for Christmas or forever? Sounds a lot of money but split between every town and city, it’s nothing!

It's not a giveaway. It's robbing hard working people through tax and spaffing our money up the wall.

Homelessness is a wide range of problems. Addiction. Mental health problems. Loneliness. And I could go on. Yes putting a roof over someone head and giving them warmth is massive to human life, but what about tackling habit, what about tackling survival, what about addressing the issues that come with homelessness. If those issues are not addressed they will find themselves in the same place and be classed as ‘helpless’… these people need proper support along side of receiving the basic human right of feeling warm and safe.

Homelessness will never be solved as long as Drugs remain criminalised and unregulated, underground and dangerous. Council refuses to house addicts because of the law, and because they have to fund their habit with cheap, super strength, unregulated drugs. They must stay out begging. If they could access a regulated prescription, they could engage. Get housing, work, stability and eventually sober, with medically supervised with no risk of death or poisoning. (research agrees)

What's wrong with trying to give the most vulnerable a helping hand? Looks like the rich corporates are standing up too. This is good.

This isn’t going to improve the majority with their addiction, mental health, criminal history (making it difficult to find a job) or drug misuse issues though is it? which is usually the source of the problem. He needs to take a more wholistic approach to resolve homelessness. Throwing money at it and physically getting them off the streets isn’t going to cut it.
