My son had his brain scans done by the Amen Clinics…guess what, they never told me to lock my child in a basement for having adhd and anxiety!!!!!!

even if he was withdrawing from those medications, he was coming out into the real world after being locked in an institution for 20 months....so he needed to adjust to being able to do things he wasnt able to do for almost 2 yrs...its very common to occur with anyone who has been locked away (jail/prison, institutions)

One thing I haven’t seen a lot of people mention…. Any of the moms I’ve known or seen that have children with major mental health issues are CONSUMED by it. They are devastated and guilt ridden if they have to resort to placing their children in a facility. They say things like “I know they have some issues but that’s not them. They’re the best sweetest child and I need people to know they aren’t their diagnosis” They’re crying saying they’re doing everything they can for their child. They’re asking for advice from other moms of kids with similar diagnoses. They’re not just like “yeah he’s in a facility. Needed to happen. Anyway, watch our show out Tuesdays at 7 eastern 6 central bye!”

If he had those issues why wasn’t he placed in a facility to address them? I listened to the book. Sounds like he was in what is normally a short term program for years.

I believe Collin, but even if he did struggle mentally as she says. Does he not deserve his mother’s love? My brother is mentally ill and we love him and go through a lot with him.
