Replying to @SICKSPENCE hygiene is hard when you’re dealing with any disabilities/chronic illnesses (no, you’re not just lazy), and keeping hygiene essentials nearby helps *so* much if you struggle to get out of bed some days. Today is the first day of fall here and a lot of people start to experience seasonal affective disorder (aka seasonal depression) around this time because it’s getting darker earlier. If you can, I strongly recommend getting a bedside cart and keeping hygiene items on it. I prefer a rolling cart because it’s easier to move around for me, and it has enough space for me to also keep other things like my meds, water, snacks, skincare, a heating pad, compression socks—basically anything that helps me stay clean/comfortable from bed. As much as it’s not talked about because there’s so much shame surrounding hygiene, SO many people struggle with taking daily showers or doing every hygiene routine consistently every day.
